The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Limited, Palmerston North, reports spirited competition for all lines of pigs offered at their fair last Thursday. A total clearance was made at considerably improved prices.. Prices for poultry were well maintained on late rates. We quote as follows: — Pigs: Weaners, up to 12s 6d each; slips, from 16s 6d to 22s each; stores, from 18s 6d to 27s 6d each; porkers, from 30s to 37s each. Poultry: Best W.L. hens, from 5s 6d to 6s per pair; light hens, from 4s to 5s per pair; heavy cockerels, from 6s to 9s per pair; light cockerels, from os to 5s 6d per pair; roosters, from 5s to 7s 6d per pair; ducks, from 5s to 7s per pair; drakes, from 5s 6d to 6s 6d per pair; pullets, from 7s 6d to 9s per pair. Produce: Apples, Delicious, from Gs to 8s per bushel; Jonathans, from 5s to 7s per bushel; Ballarats, from 4s to 5s 6d per bushel; cookers, from 3s 6d to 4s 6d per bushel; Granny Smiths, from 5s to 6s per bushel; pears, from 6s 6d to 8s 6d per l case; cauliflowers, from 143 to 17s 6d per sack; cabbage, savoy, from. 12s to 14s per bag; drumhead, from 12s to 14s 6d per bag; carrots, from 4s to 6s per case; persnips, from 3s 6d to 5s per case; potatoes, from 5s to 6s per cwt.; pumpkins, from 6s to Ss per bag; beetroot, from Is to 2s per case; marrows, from Is 6d to 3s per bag; swedes, from 4s to 5s per bag; kumeras, from 4s to 6s per bag; rhubarb, from 4s to 6s 6d per dozen; sprouts, from 6d to 7d per lb.
