Recently tho council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association wrote to four doctors asking for expressions of opinion regarding the possibility of injury to schoolboy athletes who competed in a number of events during the one day. Replies were received from three, it was reported at a recent meeting of the council, two of whom said that no harm would result, but the other was of exactly the opposite opinion. Tho council is now seeking tho opinion of four further doctors. The Public Works camp at the Homer tunnel has now been completely evacuated, the workmen and their wives having moved down to Camp Marion for tho next few months. The road to the tunnel camp had to bo cleared by the snow plough, and fo£ three or four day* prior to their moving out the women folk were udvised to stay in their homes in case an avalanche should * come down. The 20 Public Works e:nJployoes from the Homer camp will now work on the Lower Hollyford road.
