Fruitgrowers Seek Advance Payment
PEARS OF NO EARLY RETURNS FROM SUBSIDY Per Press Association. NELSON, Last Night. The following resolution was carried unanimously' by the Nelson Pfbvincial Conference of the Nc 7 Zealand Fruit* growers’ Federation: “That an urgent request be made tp the Government for an advance payment of 9d. per bushel case from the promised local market subsidy on all pip fruit sold during the current feeason and accounted for by the requisite returns to the Government by May 31, 1938, ae in tli6 absence of such an advance payment growers will receive no return from the subsidy prior to February, 1939.”
