Institute Festival Opens

FOUR PLAYS PRESENTED LAST EVENING The fifth annual drama festival under the auspices of the Biish-Wairarapa Federation of the Women’s Institutes, commenced last evening with the presentation of four one-act plays as follow;—Papatawa, “April Showers”? Hamua, “One Morning Very Early”; Makomako, “The Four Marys”; and Pahiatua, “Far, Far Away.” No announcements were made as the contest is not yet complete. This morning is assigned to presentations by Woodville anA Mangatainoka juniors and this afternoon to five other one-act plays by Pongaroa, Mangaorapa, Huka nui, Woodville and Pahiatul. This evening there Will be glee singing arid folk dancing contests and the reproduction of the best two senior plays.
