Richardson (president) presiding. | Arising out of the minutes of the last •meeting the chairman stated that the proposed visit to Feilding of a party of Taranaki farmers had been abandoned owing to the fact that insufficient sup port was forthcoming. I Reporting on the recent meeting of [ the Transport Licensing Authority, the F secretary said that Mr. D. L. Younger had represented the union and proceedings were most amicable. Where alterations were made in the conditions governing the transport of live-stock by motor lorry, these were arrived at quite ' amicably and points on which agreement could not be reached were left in abeyance. The chairman said that no major changes had been made in the schedule but some slight increases had been agreed to and these had mostly to do with the wages of lorry drivers. Mr. A. L. Brown reported on the recent lecture at Massey College on the facial eczema scourge and received the thanks of the meeting. The matter of compulsory unionism for farmers was informally debated by those present but the discussion closed without any decision being arrived at.
