Recital in London
BY THREE NEW ZEALANDERS LONDON, June 11. An invitation pianoforte recital was given at the Wigmore Hall last evening by pupils of Mr. Frederick Moore, one of tho professors at the Royal Academy of Music. This concert is an annual affair, and besides being a source of pleasure and interest, it provides considerable practical assistance for St. Duustan's Hostel, on whose behalf a collection is made. Tho veteran singer Mr. Ben Davies took part, and his group of songs, all old favourites, was received with much enthusiasm. Throe young New Zealanders contributed to the well-arranged and varied programme, and had a share in its general success. They were Miss Jean McLeod (Christchurch), an Associated Board scholar, Mr. Terence Vaughan (Christchurch), and Miss Janetta McStay (Invercargill). Sir Neville Pearson complimented all the pupils on their accomplishment. It is satisfactory to bo able to state that the evening was a real success.
Miss Betty Blamires, A.R.C.M., Welington, took part in a college concert teld in the hall at the Royal College of dusic on June 2.
