Of Local Interest
Ureal interest has been aroused throughout Pahiatua and district in relation to the Grand “Dutch Fair,” which is to be held next Tuesday, commencing at 11 a.m., and continuing all day and evening. Special features will be the gay decorations, varied stalls and the luncheon to suit settlers and others at 12 noon, which will be under the direction of Mrs. East. A grand display of national and fancy dancing, with ballets by Miss Jean Scott and pupils will be presented during tho evening entertainment. Settlers are invited to assist with contributions towards the produce and other stalls. The fair will be formally opened *t 2 p.m,. when his Worship tho Mayor of Fahiatua, Mr. S. Iv. Siddells, has consented to officiate.
The following will represent the Pahiatua thirds against Eketahuna Old Boys, at Eketahuna, at 2 p.m. to-day:— Beals. Veale (3), Glassey, Morgan, Burke, Meade, Bentley, Croad, Teahan, Mills, Paget and Gunn (2). Emergencies: Devonshire, Sowry and O'Donnell. All players aro asked to be at Hannah's corner at 1 p.m. sharp.
