Early Evening Wedding at St. Andrew’s Church

KEANE—WARDEN St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Palmerston North was the scene of a picturesque evening wedding on Wednesday, June 22, whon Barbara, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs C. H. Warden, Wanganui, and formerly of Palmerston North, was married to Arthur, fourth son of Mrs M. E. Iveaue and the late Mr A. Keane, of Helensville. The officiating clergyman was Rev. J. Hubbard, M.A., 8.D., and the wedding music was played by Mr A. J. Graham.

I The bride who was given away by her uncle, Mr Donald Fraser, of Dannevirke, made a pretty picture in hei lovely gown of deep parchment chiffon velvet which was made with a roll I collar, and a draped yolk. The skirt [was fashioned on slim-fitting lines finishing in a long train. Tiny selfcovered buttons trimmed the gown from tho neck to waist and the long tight-fitting sleeves, which were pointeu at the wrist, were buttoned to the elbow. Her dainty parchment tulle | veil was held to her head by a twisted halo of chiffon velvet with a band of orange blossom at tho back. Parchment velvet shoes and an ivory-backed Bible completed her charming ensemble. Tho throe bridesmaids, Misses Mary Cunningham (Auckland), Margaret and Marie Waldegrave, of Palmcraton North, were an attractive trio dresses alike in tulip leaf green chiffon velvet I with grecian draped yokes, Elizabethan necklines and long draped sleeves. The skirts were slim-fitting and slightly trained and buttoned from neck to waist at the back. Matching velvet shoes were worn and hair sprays of golden jonquils and armfuls of golder. jonquils created a striking effect. The best man was Mr. T. McCluggage, of Auckland and Messrs H. Mulvihill and R. C, Page, Auckland, were groomsmen. The ushers at the church were Messrs 11. Palmer, B. Waldegrave (Palmerston North), and T. Keane, (Auckland). The bridal colour scheme was carried out in the church and in tho Rose' tea .rooms where the reception was held. Lovely golden jonquils and Iceland popjpies enhanced the decorative scheme, j Miss Mary Warden, sister of the bride, received the guests wearing a graceful frock of gold taffeta, made with a draped yoke and full sleeves and having a slim-fitting skirt. With this she wore a golden tiara and a brown musquash fur coat. Miss Warden was assisted by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Donald Fraser, who was wearing a cyclamen crepe frock and a fur coat and Mrs Keane who was wearing a frock of heavy black eilk and with matching I hat and accessories and she carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers. IWhen the happy couple left later ou their honeymoon tour of the North Island, the bride was wearing a London tan Harris tweed suit with accessories to match, a Loudon tan halo hat and necklet of skunk.
