Force moderate to strong generally and of gale to strong gale force iin exposed positions. A change to southerlies probable after 24 to 36 hours. .Seas (New Zealand watera): Rough south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere moderate to rather rough. Eastern Tasman: Winds between ■ north-west and south-west at first and later becoming more southerly; moder- ■ ate to strong in the northern portion with moderate but rising seas; strong to gale force in the southern portion with rough seas. Weather: Mainly fair to fine at first in eastern districts; otherwise changeable with rain at times and hail in the western and southern districts.
