Acceptances for the Dannevirke Hunt Club’s meting, to be hold at Daunovirke next Saturday, are due to close to-moriow evening. Parting company from the motor-car which was towing it, a two-horse float owned by the Riccarton trainer M. Conza careered along for some fifty yards on tho main highway south of Oamaru, ran ..into a bank, and after turning over twice, came to rest with the doors on the ground and two horses, Clubman and Alb> r , imprisoned inside. The mishap occurred wheu Conza, accompanied by his wife, was returning from the Dunedin Jockey Club’s meeting. As the float was constructed of steel it held together, but Conza was unable to right it and had to seek help from a farm somo distance away. By the time it was righted and the horses released it was dark. Clubman fared the worse, as in his fright he severed a teudon of a hind leg. Alby escaped with a bruising and tho loss of some skin. With a needle and thread Conza managed to sew the tendon together, and eventually another start on the homeward journey was made at 3 o’clock the following morning.
