British Firm Gets Argentine Contract on £600,000 Order

STOCKPORT.—A £600,000 contract has been placed with a firm of granary engineers of Cheadle Heath, Stockport, by the Argentine Government which is embarking upon a big scheme for modernizing the storage and marketing of crops. A series of 14 large grain elevators, to be followed later by a chain of smaller storage granaries throughout the grain-growing districts, aro to be erected at Argentine ports. Tho Government of Argentine has placed contracts for the first group, comprising six terminal elevators to be constructed at Buenos Aires, Rosaria Sud, Rosario Norte, Villa Constitution, Quequcn, and Ingeniera White. This same firm has secured orders for the complete machinery equipment of four out of tho six elevators, and the contract represents tho largest yet placed with a British engineering firm for grain-handling machinery. It is expected that the contract will be completed within three years. A Scots minister, remarkable for his absent-mindedness, visited a house to perform a marriage ceremony. When all was ready, with the bride and bridegroom, best man and bridesmaids standing in front of him, he bent forward and inquired, “Is it a boy or a girl?”
