To decide the inter-dominion championship the handicapping committee has selected the following horses: Blair Athol scr, Nervie’s Last scr, U Scott (including 12 penalty) 12, Evicus 12, King’s Play 12, I’lutus 12, Pot Luck 12, Parisienne (including 12 penalty) 12, Cloudy Range 24, Supertax (including 12 penalty) 24, King’s Warrior 24, Lucky Jack (including 12 penalty) 36. HOSTILE RECEPTION TOR U SCOTT Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night U Scott, winner of the third heat in the Inter-Dominion trotting to-day received a hostile reception when he returned to the scale because of his rather indifferent displays ol the opening days when his great bursts of speed were not carried on with good results. The reversal of form may be explained by the change of gear. Oil the opening days U Scott had raced iu an open bridle but before the race to-day an application was made for a change. This application, it appears, was refused and U Scott’s counections considering that with an open bridle he would “pull himself to pieces,” threatened to withdraw him from the race. U Scott, however, was permitted to start with a chango in gear and showing himself a very good stayer won handsomely.

After the race a protest was enter 1 by the connections of the second horse Pot Luck, and the stewards have deferred their decision untit the meeting at 7.30 to-morrow evening. The place dividends have been paid on the second and third horses but the win dividends have been withheld in the meantime.
