Jackie Coogan has brought an actiou against his mother and stepfather, Arthur Bernstein, charging them with depriving him of 4,00U,00U dollars of his earnings. The judge appointed a receiver for all assets in the parents’ possesion and enjoined them from disposing of tlrern and fixed a preliminary hearing of the injunction on April 20. The complaint stated that Jackie earned in excess of 4,000,000 dollars between his fourth and twenty-first birthdays. He received about six dollars as his weekly allowance until he was 21, when he was given 1000 dollars as a gift. He received nothing after that aud was forced to live on his present earnings. Jackie accused Bernstein of throwing away money on horse vagers and deducting the losses from the estate; also with appropriating gifts from admirers. He said his late father limited liis expenditures, so that he would grow up like other boys. Coogan added: “I was always under the impression that I would take over the estate on reaching manhood, but mother declared I am not getting a cent, and that it all belongs to her and Arthur. ’ '
