Miners Advised to' Return to Work

MINISTER’S APPEAL AGAINST PETTY STRIKES I’or Press Association. HAMILTON, April 2. At a meeting of miners at Pukemiro yesterday attended by the Minister oi Mines, the Hon. P. C. Webb, it was announced by the secretary of the local Miners' Union that the union committee would recommend to the men that they should accept the terms of settlement arrived at after discussion with the mine manager. The men will consider this recommendation at the minehead on Monday morning. It is believed that it will be accepted and that the men will return to work. The terms of settlement were not disclosed. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Webt again appealed to the miners not to lel petty differences result in strikes, whicl were endangering the industry and making the miners look ridiculous.
