Clerical Workers’ Award

SHORT TERM FOR WELLINGTON PROVINCE WELLINGTON, Last Night. A short term award pending the application for a Dominion award has been made by the second Court of Arbitration for clerical workers in the Wellington industrial district excluding the area covered by a 25-mile radius from Wellington. The matters to bo decided by tho Court which heard the dispute recently at Palmerston North were those relating to wages, proportion of juniors to seniors, holidays and sick leave. Ihe rates of wages have been lixed at the same as those iu the existing clerical workers’ awards iu Wellington, Auckland, etc., and are made retrospcctiv e as from January 1. The award will expire ou March 31 so as to enable the parties concerned to be joined in the Dominion award which will be rn.id' shortly.
