Northern Wedding of Interest to Feilding
RTJTHERF ORD—BAILEY A wedding of particular interest to tlie Feilding district was celebrated on the afternoon of December 15 at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Mount Eden, Auckland, the bride being Marjorie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Bailey, Gordonton, and the bridegroom, Ronald George, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rutherford, Mount Eden. The bride, as she appeared with her father, made a charming picture wearing an attractive and most unusual frock of corded brown taffeta, the long sleeves of which were gathered at the top and the square neckline outlined with a thick wreath of white lilac. Her large picture hat of brown tagel straw was wreathed with similar flowers and she carried an armful of Christmas lilies. Miss Betty Bailey, who accompanied her sister as bridesmaid, was in a pretty little creation of soft pink suede silk patterned with navy daisies and a widebrimmed hat of navy straw'. Her bouquet was of flowers in tones of pink. Mr. Quentin Rutherford, brother of the bridegroom, was in attendance as best man and the .service was conducted by the Rev. G. Montcith. A small reception afterwards took place at the home of the bridegroom’s parents, which was lavishly and very beautifully bedecked with bright summer blooms. Mrs. Bailey wore a frock and coatee of grey cloque flowered in amethyst, a hat to match and carried a bouquet in mauve and amethyst shading. Mrs. Rutherford chose a frock of navy floral shirred crepe with basqued coatee, her bouquet of gay flowers being in striking contrast aud her hat being of navy ballibuntal straw. Miss Anderson, an aunt of the bridegroom, wore a navy ensemble and navy hat finished with a white gardenia. Among other relatives . present w T ere Misses Sybil, Sheila and Yalerie Bailey, Miss Joyce Rutherford and Mr. Geoffrey Bailey. When the bride and bridegroom set out on their honeymoon the former was in a smart suit of navy silk, a mouel navy hat and accessories to tone. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Rutherford are living at Waitakaruru, in the Thames district.
