Escape From Custody
LABOURER SENTENCED Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 17. "This is always a serious offence, and must be met by an additional term of imprisonment,” said Mr. Justice Fair in dealing with Richard Jackson Ruff Moyle, labourer, aged 28, who pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court to a charge of escaping from lawful custody, and also with breaking and entering a boardinghouse, and theft. Moyle escaped from Borstal at Waikeria on February 20, and six days later gave himself up to the police at Wellington. On the charge of escaping from custody. Moyle was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, to be cumulative with the sentence he is now serving. On the second charge the sentence was six months, to be concurrent with the other sentences.
