Telephone Numbers
(To the Editor.) bir, —A business mau in the Square who makes irequent use of the telephone toll service, directs attention to a difficulty which may be easily remedied, la the letters used to distinguish party line subscribers from the others on the same line, at Kougotea for instance, no less than 18 are listed under the letter 1) which is mistakeu by callers and the telephonists for B, C, E, G. P, T, or V, and 21 are listed as K, J, or A, these being also mistakeu for one another. There are other letters which have no similar sound, but for some reason they are uot used.—l am. etc., PUZZLED.
