BRIGHT FUNCTION AT ST. PETER’S HALL St. Peter’s Hall, Terrace End, was filled to capacity on Wednesday night when the Kowhai Ladies’ Cricket Grub held a most successful dance the object of which was to augment the club’s travelling fund. The hall was transformed with blue and yellow streamers (the club colours) and coloured Chinese lanterns, and during the evening coloured streamers were distributed. Music for the dancing was kindly supplied by Messrs W. Bainbridge and M. Houston, the duties of M.C. being in the capable hands of Mr M. C. Allan, who kept things going until a late hour with a varied programme of dances. The winners of novelty dances were Miss L. Smith and Mr N. Baker (Monte Carlo), Miss B. Ennis and Mr R. V. Vowell (Lucky Partner), Miss B. Keeling and Mr M. Houston (Lucky Spot; aud humourous tap dances by Mr M. C. Allan were much enjoyed. A dainty supper was served by the club members, during w'hich Mr Allan took the opportunity of thanking on behalf of “the Kowhai” all those present for their support
