At a meeting held last week a branch of the Y'oung Farmers’ Club was formed. Air. R. Linklater, chairman, introduced members of the Department of Agriculture, who outlined the aims and ideals of the club , after which tho following officers were elected:— President, Air. B. AlcLeod; senior advisory committee, Messrs. R. Linklater, W. Hocken and R. Knight, Y.F.C, committee, Alessrs. W. Thurston (chairman). K. Shortall (secretary), E. Wilcox and Angus Burr. At a meeting held on Tuesday about 30 young farmers listened to u talk on diseases. Tho speaker from Ihe Department of Agriculture dealt chiefly with, a test for mammitis, aud eczema and sleeping sickness in sheep. At the conclusion of the talk a vote of thanks was accorded the speaker. It was decided to hold meetings on the first Tuesday in each month. Four club members were selected to give a short talk on any subject at the next meeting.
