Feilding Hockey Association
BUSINESS AT THE ANNUAIi MEETING At the annual meeting of the Feiidiug Hockey Association on Thursday night, Mr. E. A. Garlick, w*ko presiuhd, brought up the question of insurance of players, stating that at the previous annual meeting the subject had been discussed. He pointed out that the executive had not lost sight of the matter and during the year had circularised the various clubs in the association regarding the subject. The response had been disappointing eud apparently the players did not want insurance, After a brief discussion, it was resolved that it be a recommendation to the incoming committee that the matter be dealt with and on endeavour made to seo if a cover for both men and women players could be arranged. Reference was made to the improvements effected at Victoria Park by Mr. P. G. Guy, who stated that the association now had six full playing fields available. He moved that the Borough Council and borough engineer (Mr. T. K. Hay) be written, to expressing 1 lieassociation’s appreciation. The motion was seconded by Mr. T. Trisklebanlt and carried. The meeting recorded the appreciation of the services Of iho retiring secretary (Mr. fc>. CkusUf/lield). Reference to lhe work of Messrs Guy and Tricklebank in connection with Victoria Park was made and both gentlemen were accorded votes ol thanks. Mr. R. Fade suggested that a special effort be made to mark the forthcoming season on Victoria Park. He considered that a gala day should be held. Other speakers concurred with this viewpoint and it was resolved ihat a suitable function be arranged.
