From Our Own Oorresnondent. Kimbolton Golf Club. The annual meeting of the Kimbolton Ladies’ Golf Club was held last Thursday afternoon at Mrs Murray’s residence. Mrs Richardson presided over a good attendance of members. The election of officers for tho ensuing year resulted as follows: Secretary, Mrs T. Henshaw; club captain, Mrs R. Richardson; committee, Mesdames Muray, S. D’Ath, W. Cornfoot. Miss Hocking, who did not seek re-election as secretary, was accorded a vote of thanks for her untiring efforts as secretary during the past years. Three new members were accepted. At the conclusion or the meeting, Mrs Murray served afternoon tea. School Committee. A meeting of the school committee was held last week. Mr C. L. Williams reported that word had ben received that Miss E. Sinclair had been appointed to the position of assistant mistress. It was decided to ascertain from the Wanganui Education Board what assistance would be granted for the conveyance of children to Feilding for the purpose of enabling them to receive swimming instruction. Aster Display. The aster display at the Kiwitea Nurseries, which are very beautiful this year, was open to the public on the last two Sundays. Although weather conditions were unfavourable and the attendance not large on the 6th., large numbers of people took the opportunity of attending the nursery last Sunday to view the display in brilliant weather. The Feilding Municipal Band, which kindly gave its services, added to the attraction. Afternoon tea was served on both occasions by the Kimbol-ton-Kiwitea branch of the Plunket Society, and their thanks are specially due to Mr and Mrs Younger for allowing them the use of their grounds. Presbyterian Church Carnival. The Kiwitea Presbyterian Church holds its annual carnival next Saturday, at Mr A. Brown’s home and grounds. Numerous competitions and events for both adults and children have been arranged, and all are assured of a pleasant day. Particulars are advertised in this Issue of the “Times.”
