From Our Own CorresDonflent. On Saturday the Aokautsre tennis team played a return match with the local club. The results were as follows, Aokautere players being; mentioned first:— Women’s singles: Miss E. Anderson lost to Miss Davey, Miss M. Anderson beat Miss Ransom, Miss I. Anderson lost to Miss J. Newman, Miss J. Brill lost to Miss I. Eglinton. Miss E. Petersen lost to Mrs R. Mitchell, Miss L. Davey lost to Miss N. Lewis. Women’s doubles: Misses E. and M. Anderson beat Misses Davey and Ransom; Misses I. Anderson and J. Brill lost to Misses Newman and Eglinton; Misses Peterson and L. Davey lost to Mrs Mitchell and Miss Lewis.
Men’s singles: J. Wuodley lost, to I. Davey, W. Anderson lost to L. Clark. A. Hopcroft lost to W.» Harrigon, T* SPE-
croft lost to D. Mildon, W. Hopcroft lost to J. Holland, W. Anderson beat C. Hyde. Alen’s doubles: AVoodley and Andersen beat Davey and Clark; T. and A. Hopcroft lost to Mildon and Harrison: W. Hopcroft and W. Anderson lost to Holland and Hyde. Combined doubles: Miss E. Anderson and Woodley lost to Miss T. Davey and I. Davey; Miss M. Anderson and W. Anderson beat Miss Ransom and Clark; Miss I. Anderson and T. Hopcroft lost to Miss Newman and Alildon; Miss Brill and A. Hopcroft lost to Miss Eglinton and Harrison; Miss Peterson and W. Hopcroft lost to Mrs R. Mitchell and Harrison.
The match was won by Kairanga with a fair margin of sets. For the first time in a considerable number of years, the Kairanga school entered a team for tho country schools cup, the competition for which was held at Feilding- on Saturday. That they were placed second equal, shows credit on tho Twadmaster, who supervised their training,
