Fair to Fine at First Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Though the pressure is still high in the north, the recent anti-cyclone is moving eastward off the Dominion and a further vigorous depression is approaching across the Tasman. Winds: Northerly to nort i-westerly, moderate to strong generally and rising at times to gale force in parts of the Cook and Foveaux Strait areas. A change to southerlies probable tomorrow in the southern portion of the South Island. Seas(New Zealand waters): Rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits and rising generally south of Cape Egmont; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong northerly winds, but a change to southerlies advancing from the west on to the central and southern portions; seas rough in central and southern portions, moderate in the northern. Weather: Fair to fine generally at first, but becoming unsettled in the western and southern portions of the South Island, with rain developing and extending gradually northwards over districts with a westerly aspect. Temperatures warm. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER Auckland: Fine, cloudy, light wind. Hamilton: Fine, some cloud, calm. New Plymouth: Overcast, calm. Gisborne: Sunny, calm. Napier: Sunshine, light breeze. Christchurch: Sunshine, light wind. Timaru: Sunshine, moderate wind. Dunedin: Fine, cloudy, light wind. Invercargill: Cloudy, strong wind.
