CHRISTIE CUP TENNIS

Manawatu Narrowly Beaten by Wairarapa Wairarapa won the Christie Cup from Manawatu on Saturday. Rubbers and games were level at 12 and 275 respectively, but Wairarapa captured 30 sets to Manawatu’s 2S, and it was by virtue of that that they annexed the trophy, emblematic of minor association supremacy in the North Island, which had been in Manawatu’s possession for the last two years.
