Shipping Space for Fruit
EARLIER AND HEAVIER CROPS Per Pres;- Association WELLINGTON, Last Night. Replying to an urgent question in the House by Air. K. J. llolyoake (Opp.— Motueka) as to whether he was aware that the fruit exporting industry was suit of a shortage of overseas shipping space and what action he had taken or proposed to take, the Alinister of Agriculture, Hon. W. Lee Martin, said all true ted for had been made available to the Fruit Board. {Shipping space difficulties arose through the vagaries of the season. Fruit was coining forward earlier than expected and in very much greater quantities, but steps that were being taken by the board for accommodation with the over seas shipowners' allotment committee, were likely to result in a satisfactory solution of the shipping trouble.
