Obituary

MRS. ELIZABETH A. GRAY, OF FEILDING

The late Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Gray, wife of Mr. Ben Gray, of Nelson street, Feilding, who passed away at the age of 81 years on Tuesday, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephens, of Bulls. She was born at Brighton, England, and. at 13 years of age sailed in 1972 with her parents for New Zealand in the ship Elyne. Arriving in Wellington, she came with her parents to Bulls and four years later married and settled on Rangitikei line. Later her husband took up land at Rongotea where she shared with him the tribulations of tho pioneering life. They afterwards lived at Taikorea and years later come to lvawa Ivawa road, Feilding, finally settling in Nelson street where sho passed away. The late Mrs. Gray was a devoted wife and mother and by her many kindly actions was much beloved by all who knew her. She leaves a husband and a family of seven sons and five daughters to mourn her passing. There are 24 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The members of the family are Mesdames M. B. Duthie (Bunny - thorpe), Hall (Rongotea), Reid (Bulls), Mailman (Auckland) and Miss Ruth Gray (Feilding) and the following sons: Kirk (Taikorea), Benjamin (Oroua Downs), John (Oroua Downs), George (Taihapc), Nelson (Tangimoana), Sta?:ley (Rongotea) and Alfred (Feilding). She has a sister in Mrs. Roderick, of Gisborne.
