Skins and Hides
Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report: The usual sale of sheepskins, hides, tallow, and sundries was held last week in the Dominion Farmers’ Institute. Sheepskins: A smaller offering than usual was submitted. Values generally
showed little variation on last sale's quotations. Hides: A fair selection was offered and keen competition was met from all sections of the trade. Values for heavy, medium and light grades, with the exception of heavy cow, were from par to id higher than last sale. Yearling, kip, and heavy calf also improved by about id per lb., ■while light calf remained firm. The following is the range of prices: Sheepskins: Halfbred to 9d; line crossbred, 73d to S£d; medium crossbred, 53d to S£d; coarse crossbred, Gd to 73d; half wools, 5d to 8d; quarter wools, 2d to pelts, 3fd to ssd; salted skins at each, pelts, Is Id; quarter wools, 6d to 2s sd; half wools, 2s 7d 3s 7d; lambs, 6d to Is 6d. Hides: Ox, 33/441bs, 4 5-Sd to sd; ox, 45/521bs. 3 1-Sd to 53d; ox, 43/591 bs., 4d to 6 7-Sd; ox, 60/691bs, 6 3-Sd to 7 3-8 d; ox, 701bs. and over, GJd to 7 3-Sd cow, 33/391b5., 4 5-8 d to sid; 40/ 481b5~ 4Jd to 4 5-8 to 5Jd; kip, 25/321b5., 4-Jd to 5 3-8 d; 17/241b5., 41d to yearling, 11/lGlbs., 4d to 7 7 Sd; calf, 9/101bs., GJd to 73d; G/81bs., 43d to 8 5-Sd; 1/5 lbs., 3 l-8d to B*d-
