Mr. O.M. Krogh Retires
HEAD OF STOCK DEPARTMENT From Our Own Corresoondont. HASTINGS, Feb. 26. Over half a century’s association with ;he commercial and primary activities of Hawke’s Bay by Mr O. C. M. Krogh tvill terminate: officially on Monday next when he retires from his office as head of the stock department of Dalgety and Co., Ltd. « There can be no doubting that Mr Krogh will be greatly missed, for he has had a wide association with alt those dealing in stock throughout thf province, and both client and associate have invariably found in him thai which inspires confidence and friendship. There are few parts of the province in wh:ich he had not. visited as the representative of the companies with which lie has been associated. Mr Krogh was connected for 26 yean with the North British Freezing Co., which many older residents and settlet £ of this province will recall, and in 1912 he joined the staff of Dalgety and Co., Ltd. Dviring the past 26 years ht has proved a valued member of the staff, and for a number of years past has been head of the stock department To Mr Krogh has fallen the honouz of putting through probably the biggest single stock deal in New Zealand. Jn 1928 he arranged the sale of some 18,000 sheep and 2000 cattle from the Wairarapa for something in the vicinity of £60,000. About two years ago Mr Krogh suffered a severe illness, and though Jig resumed activities, his retirement no\s is prompted by medical advice. He has no immediate plans for the future, other than to derive as much enjoyment su possible from his retirement.
