Child Reported Kidnapped Near Sydney
FIRST CASE IN N.S.W. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Frida/, 1.15 a.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 24. Detectives are investigating a kidnapping, the first of its kind in New South Wales. The infant son of Ronald Powles, cinema operator, was taken from his father’s car this morning at Narrabeen, a seaside village 10 miles north of Sydney. The kidnapper is reported to have telephoned the father demanding a ransom of £3OO and assuring him his son was unharmed.
