Further Rain in The North Island Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. An anti-cyclone is still centred to the south-east, while an area of low pressure extends across northern New Zealand. Winds: South-easterly in the Cook Strait area, but elsewhere easterly to north-easterly prevailing, strong in places north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, but otherwise light to moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to rough in the Cook Strait area and on the east coast of the North Island; elsewhere slight to moderate.
Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh south-easterly winds in the northern portion, with rather rough seas; light to moderate cast to northeastern in the southern portion wit'h slight to moderate seas. Weather: Fair to fine in the western and southern portion of the South Island, elsewhere still dull and misty, with further rain in the North Island and scattered showers or drizzle in eastern districts of the South Island. Conditions improving slowly, however, to-morrow. Temperatures cool. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER. Auckland: Rain, light breeze. Hamilton: Overcast, light w r ind. New Plymouth: Rain, moderate wind. Gisborne: Cloudy, moderate wind. Napier: Sun and cloud, light wind. Palmerston North: Overcast, light wind. Masterton: Rain, light wind. Wellington: Rain, light wind. Blenheim: Rain, light wind. Nelson: Overcast, calm. West Coast: Cloudy, light wind. Christchurch: light rain, light wind. Timaru: Overcast, light wind. Dunedin: Sunshine, light wind. Invercargill: Cloudy, light wind.
