From Our Own Correspondent. Mr and Mis Eric Bramwell (Feilding) are here for ;:i fortnight’s holiday. Mr Frank Guy, who recently suffered the loss of a finger through an accident, has now rest med work. Mr and Mrs: R. O. Hornblow and family (Foxton) are still in occupation of their beach residence. The small child of Mrs McPhail, who recently fell and broke her arm, and who has been under the care of Nurse Collins, Foxton. has now returned home. Members o: the newly formed Tarigimoana Surf Club paid a visit to the local club on Sunday. A demonstration by the visitors was witnessed by a god crowd of spectators. Complaints arc still being voiced in regard to the inadequate facilities px-ovided at the local post office. Lack of light and privacy in the telephone box and want of space in the office itself are the main objections to t.i: e present conditions. This matter was ventillated some months ago. but nothing has yet been done in. the Those housewives who annually depend on a supply of blackberries for jam-mak-ing. will this season be disappointed to find that some parasite has practically exterminated the vines. As they are growing in close proximity to lupins which have been similarly attacked, it is feasible to suppose that the lupin grub may be responsible. Surday School Picnic. The combined Foxton and Beach Methodist Sunday school picnic was held at the beacli on Saturday. The children travelled by bus, lorry and private cars to the river-flat where the sports were held. The Rev. Mr Grice, with teachers and helpers, had a busy time organising games and running a programme of sports. Heavy rain set in about threa o'clock, making it necessary to seek shelter. Tea wan dispensed and prizes presented to the winners of Uie sports events.
