Maidservant in “ The Adventures of Robin Hood ”
The popular character actress, Una O’Connor, has been assigned to the cast of Warner Bros.’ forthcoming all-tech-nicolour picture “The Adventures of Robin Hood,” in which Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland will co-star. Miss Connor’s role will be that of the maidservant of Maid Marian (Miss de Havilland). Production on “The Adventures of Ilobin Hood” is now under way on location at Chico, California, with William Keighley directing. Miss de Havilland is now completing the leading feminine role opposite George Brent in "Gold is Where You Find It,” also a technicolour film and also being made, for the most part, on location.
International negotiations for the purchase of United Artists by Samuel Goldwyn and Alexander Korda ended December 8 when when Goldwyn and Korda issued the following joint statement: “Owin gto insurmountable legal complications we have decided not to exercise our option for the purchase of the three units of United Artists Corporation stock owned by Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks and Charles Chaplin, and accordingly are returning the option to-clay.” The announcement was made following the annual stockholders’ meet ing which lasted tkree hours and at Which Dr. A. H. Giannini was re-elected president of United Artists and chairman of the Board of Directors. George J. Schaefer, Arthur W. Kelly, Harry D. Buckley and Thomas L. Walker were elected vice-* presidents. The latter, is a new aduition to the vie e-presidential list.
