“Gold Is Where You Find It”
Warner Bros, thrilling outdoor drama has been completed after the filming of many thrilling episodes. Gigantic hydraulic monitors tear mountains away, seas of mud flow over far flung wheat fields, huge harvesters cut wide swathes across the golden fields and a man and woman—George Brent and Olivia de Havilland—snatch happiness from the turgid torrent of life. Director Michael Curtiz packed the picture with more thrills than he put in “The Charge of the Light Brigade.” From the Cosmopolitan magazine story by Clements Ripley, “Gold is Where You Find It” deals with the historic battle between the miners and ranchers in the California foothills in 1870. In the great cast are such stars as Claude Rains, John Litel, Margaret Lindsay, Harry Davenport, Barton Mac Lane, Henry O’Neil and George Dawes.
