Mr. Logan to Retire
SEAT ON H.B. COUNTY COUNCIL NAPIER, Feb. 14. Mr. F. B. Logan, chairman of the Hawke's Bay County Council, announced his intention at to-day's meeting of retiring from the council at the end of the present term in April next. Mr. Logan lias been a member of the council for six consecutive terms, totalling 184 years. He has been chairman for nine years. Mr. Logan stated that he felt the time had arrived when he should retire from the public arena and his place taken by a younger man. During his service 201 ordinary meetings of the council had taken place, of which he had attended 195. Mr. Logan, in addition, served as a member of the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board for 12 years. He was also a member of the Hawke's Bay Rabbit Board for six years. Mr. Logan was also the first chairman of the Transport Licensing Authority, a position occupied for three years. Mr. Wilfred Turner, member for the Fuketapu Riding for the past nine years, also intimated his intention of not seeking re-election.
