Inter-club Tennis
MANGAMUTU BEAT KUMEROA The Mangamutu Tennis Club sent a team to Kuineroa on .Sunday, where a particularly enjoyable day ’s tennis resulted. The visitors, tnanks to the ladies, who won all their singles, finish - ed np victorious by 13 sets and 132 games to nine sets and lib games. The Kuineroa ladies dispensed an appetising afternoon tea, which was greatly appreciated by all players. Results of games played are set out below.
Ladies' singles: Miss N. Liz beat Miss Smith, 7—4; Mrs. A. Morgan beat Miss Lynch, 7—5; Miss K. Dick beat Mrs. Little, 7—5; Miss P. Noble teat Miss Pount&ine, 7—3; Miss E. Miller beat Miss J. Bridges, 7—l; Mrs. W. Darley beat Mrs. Smyth, 7—l. Men's singles: D. O'Brien beat Mackay, 7—3; W. Anscom.be lost to Hills, 7; L. Hamilton lost to Norman, 3—7; E. Lett beat Nelson, 7—5; L. Heayns beat Young, 7—2; A. Jones lost to Smyth, I—7.
Ladies' doubles: Miss Etz and Mrs. Morgan beat Misses Smith and Lynch, 7—5; Misses Dick and Noble lost to Mrs. Little and Miss Pountaine, 3—7; Miss Miller and Mrs. Darley beat Mrs. Smyth and Miss J. Bridges, 7—o. Men’s doubles: Anscombe and Hamilton lost to Mackay and Nelson, 3—7; O'Brien and Lett lost to Hills and Norman, o—7; Heayns and Jones lost to Young and Smyth, 3—7.
