“ Hoity Toity ”

ANGLO-AMERICAN REVUE Commencing with a matinee on Saturday, February 19, at the Opera House. The Anglo-American Revue Co. will be seen in “ Hoity Toity” (a Conors and Paul production), headed by Syd. Beck, Australia’s funniest comedian. He is the one old favourite among an “all new faces” cast. The {Sydney Morning Herald of July 26, 1937, said: “Syd. Beck is back again at the Tivoli, with everything new except his baggy trousers and bowler hat. His clever absurdities and the quick-moving programme full of excellent vaudeville contrasts, kept a packed theatre in constant roars of laughter. Syd. is, of course, an established favourite with Sydney audiences and he showed last evening that he is as brilliant and versatile in his own inimitable manner as ever he was.

“One of the star turns of the evening was that of the Seven Flying Elmars—an amazingly clever troupe of acrobats, all members giving finished performances, and were deservedly singled out for special applause, as were Moran and Wiser for their dexterous hat spinning and juggling. The elder member of the party created roars of laughter at the undignified positions he got himself into when catching hats on his head, when thrown by members of the audience.”

The box plan opens to-morrow at Messrs Collinson and Cunninghame’s.
