Hawke’s Bay Tennis Titles
M. PERKINS VICTORIOUS IN singles From Our Own CorresDOnflent. NAPIER, Jan. 3. The Hawke's Bay Lawn Tennis Association's provincial championships, in conjunction with the Hawke's Bay Lawn Tennis Club's annual open handicap tournament, were concluded on Saturday. In the morning rain seemed probable but did not develop. However, the light was not the best. M. Ferkins beat R. J. D. Sharpe in the final of the men's singles in three straight sets, 6—l, 6—l, 6—4. Mrs. Milburn and Mrs. Mawson were the finalists in the women's singles, the former winning 6—2, 7—5. Final results are as follow: Men's singles: Ferkins beat Sharpe, 6—l, 6—l, 6 — l. Women's singles: Mrs. Milburn beat Mrs. Mawson, 6—2, 7—5. Men's doubles: Milburn and Ferkins beat Lowry and Forbes, 6—3, 6—3, 6—2. Women's doubles: Mesdames Milburn and Cotterill beat Misses Ormond and Glenny, 7 —5, 6—l. Mixed doubles: Sharpe and Miss Glenny beat Milburn and Miss Milburn, 6-—l, 6—o.
