“TIMES” WEATHER REPORT
Fine and Warm Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A rather intense anti-cyclone still covers New Zealand, its centre having moved to the eastward, while a slight depression has been advancing slowly across the South Tasman. Winds: Easterly at first over the northern portion of the North Island; otherwise northerlies prevailing, force light to moderate generally, but freshening somewhat about and south of Cook Strait. Seas (N.Z. Waters): Rather rough at times about Cook and Foveaux Straits, otherwise slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate but freshening winds easterly to north-easterlies in the northern portion and northerlies in the southern; seas moderate. Weather: Still mainly fair to fine, but cloud and haze gradually increasing and scattered rains developing in western and far southern districts of the South island. Temperatures warm. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER Summer-like conditions w*ere again predominating over New Zealand yesterday. There were clear skies everywhere with the exception of Napier, West Coast and Timaru, •where clouds hid the sun. ( The wind was calm in most places but never more than slight breezes in other places.
