HUNTERVILLE SPRING CATTLE FAIR Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report an average yarding of cattle of all classes at the above fair. Several pens of P.A. and Hereford bullocks, although not carrying a great deal of condition, sold well up to late rates and in some cases above those ruling over the past two weeks, when the market definitely eased, due to the dry weather prevailing over that period. The market for 2yr. steers was keener than was anticipated, top lines of these cattle selling at from £8 to £8 11s. We | offered a line of fat Shorthorn cows on account of Mr. A. Sutherland, Mangahoe. These being an outstanding line of prime quality cows sold up as high as £l3 for the top pen. Quotations: — 4yr. P.A. bullocks, £9 10s to £10; 3yr. P.A. bullocks, £8 10s to £8 15s, £9 and £9 10s; 2yr. Shorthorn steers, £7 to £7 7s 6d; Syr. Hfd. steers, small, £6 15s, £7 to £7 2s 6d; 2yr. empty P.A. and Hereford heifers, £5 10s, £5 15s, £5 17s 6d; fat cows, £6 ss, £G 12s 6d, £7, £7 ss, £7 10s, £8 10s, £l2 5s to £l3. Dalgety and Company Limited report on their Hunterville cattle fair held on Thursday, 28th instant. There was a nominal entry of cattle to hand, the quality being in the main fairly good. We report a good attendance with steady competition at wffiat appeared to be good market rates. Quotations: Yearling steers, £2 2s 6d, £5 12s Gd, £5 15s; steers, £6 Is, £lO 7s, £lO 4s; bullocks, £9 16s, £lO 7s, £lO 14s; 2yr. Here, heifers, £7; fat heifers. £6 12s 6d to £7; fat cows, £3 10s, £4 12s Gd, £7.
