Empire Pageant
LORD MAYOR’S LONDON SHOW United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, Oct. 28. Sir Harry Twvford, the new Lord Mayor, has planned tli9 Lord Mayor’s procession—it will be held next week—as an Empire pageant. He will probably be the most Empire-minded Lord Mayor for years. All the Dominions will participate. New Zealand and Australia are preparing elaborate floats, displaying produce and scenes peculiar to the two countries. Sir Harry Twyford—he married an Adelaide girl—three years before the war managed the old Walcapuaka (eight miles from Nelson, New Zealand) cable station, after which he served in the Australian cable offices, and later at Cocos Island, before returning to England to enter business.
