Young Woman Hit on the Street
NOCTURNAL ATTACK AT AUCKLAND Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. Reported to be the victim of an assault in Ponsonby shortly after 11 o’clock on Thursday night, a young woman hammered at the door of a house in the street, rousing the occupants. After alighting from a tramcar, the young woman walked some distance along the street, when she was attacked. She received a blow above an eye, but escaped without any serious injury. A neighbour of the house where the young woman sought refuge, attracted by her cries, came to the front door and saw a young man disappear in the dark.
