Car Plunges Over 100-foot Bank
FALL ARRESTED BY TREE From Our Own Correspondent. WAIROA, Last Night. While travelling down the Ruakitura valley towards Wairoa a car driven by Mr. C. Renner, was precipitated over a bank, falling nearly 100 feet on an inclined grade. The car came to rest against a tree, thus saving it from a further and steeper fall. Three occupants, including two children, escaped serious injury, and their escape was doubly fortunate, for a further fall would have meant a tragedy, and, considering the car was badly damaged, 1 their escape was miraculous.
