Laden with sheep bound for tho Feilding sale, one of Messrs. Currie Bros.’ lorries capsized on the Halcombe run road yesterday morning. The driver, who escaped uninjured, was negotiating one of tho deep depressions on tho road, when some cows got in the way. Luckily few of tho sheep were hurt. At last evening’s meeting of the Feilding A. and P. Association a resolution of sympathy was passed with tho relatives of the late Mr. J. S. Lumsden, whose death followed closely upon his appointment to the general committee of tho association. A similar vote of sympathy was accorded Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Hopping in tho death of their laughter. • Air. R. Linklater, Colvton, was elected a member of the general committee at last evening’s meeting of the Feilding A. and P. Association. The weekly euchre tournament in the . oresters’ Hall in aid of the Feilding lunicipal Band queen, Miss Olive >porle, was again rewarded with a very good attendance on Thursday night. The prizes went to Mesdames Wickham and R. Jones, who tied for first place in the ladies’ section, while Mr. T. O’Riley came first in tho men’s with Air. L. Fisher second. Airs. Angland won the special prize.
