Ace Pilot Crashes On Record Bid
SPEED TEST ENGINE EXPLODES France’s aco speed pilot, Raymon.i Delmotte, had a narrow escape when the machine in which he was attempting to break the world’s land ’piano speed record crashed in flames at Istres, France. i Delmotte had to jump when the engine exploded. His parachute opened ! and he came to earth safely. The mishap was the third one that morning. On the first attempt a cylinder exploded and the engine had to be changed.
