From Our Own Correspondent. Table Tennis. The weekly table tennis match played between Bongburn and Takaro resulted in a win TCr Takaro by 24 frames to 12. Rasmussen, B. McMurray, H. Bateman, J. Bashlie; beat S. Wright. J. Johansen. Kitchen Evening. A bride-elect, Miss Mavis Foss, was recently tendered a kitchen evening in St. Chad s Church hall. There was a large attendance and a very picasant evening was spent In games, dancing and competitions, interspersed witn items. Miss Foss wore an attractive frock of floral gcor- ; gette. Songs by Mr C. SherrifEs and Mr A. Rowe, were much appreciated. An amusing competition was won by Mr Searle. After supper, the Rev. Holland, on behalf of the residents of Bongburn. wished Miss Foss every happiness nnd asked her to accept the ranay useful parcels. The speaker stated how she would be missed from the district as she was a popular and helpful member of the Girls Club. Mr R. Dawick replied on behalf of his fiancee. Music for the games and dancing was supplied by Mrs Martin and Miss U. Chamberlain. Personal. Mr and Mrs F. Murray, of Petone, former residents of Bongburn. were the guests of Mr and Mrs W. Uruden for the week-end. Mr and Mrs A. Graydon, and Mr J. McDowall, of Waikato, have been the guests Of Mr and Mrs J. Holland. Miss V. Corke is at present on a holiday trip to Suva. Mr and Mrs Hopping have returned from a holiday spent in Napier. Mr and Mrs Birch arc spending a holtflay to New Plymouth. Miss V. Zurcher left on W ednesdav_ to spend a fortnight's holiday In the \\ aik&to. Euchre Tournament. The fortnightly euchre tournament held on Tuesday evening drew a very good attendance. Mrs Barsen being the winner of the ladies' prize and Mrs Oke the consolation. Mr K. Jackson was the winner of the men's section, with Mr M. Jackson taking the consolation. ===== i
