Brawl Aboard Ship
FIREMAN IN HOSPITAL; SECOND CHARGED WITH ASSAULT Per Press Association. NAPIER, May 25. Following a brawl on board the S.S. Kekarangu at the Napier Breakwater one fireman is in hospital and another appeared in the Napier Magistrate's Court this afternoon on a charge of assault. The accused, Sidney Patterson Fairhall, is charged that, with intent to do grievous bodily harm to Arthur Brockropp, he did actual bodily harm. Fairhall was arrested on the boat at 1.10 p.m. to-day by Detective-Sergeant H. Nuttall, Sergeant G. F. Bonisch and Constable R. J. Sutherland. Members of the crew, including the chief engineer, gave evidence this afternoon before the departure of the vessel for Wellington, and the case was then adjourned.
