Rifle Shooting
BUSHY PARK CUP The annual Union ahoot for the Bushy Park Cup (senior) and Farley Cup (junior) took place at Putiki (Wanganui) range on Saturday. Condition* were good and tall scoring was the re suit. Fifteen teams competed, coming from Patea, Cheltenham, Ashhurst, Wanganui, Turakina, Bulls, Marton and Wairekei. In all 75 riflemen were present, this being a record, and goes to show that rifle shooting is coming back to its former place. Rifleman Meads (Rangitikei) was top scorer with 50, 49, 99, only one down and a fine performance. The Bushy Park Cup went to Wangauui No. 2 team from the Rangitikei team by the small margin ■of one point. Shooting for the Rangitikei team, Rifleman Stevenson registered a bull on the wrong target, otherwise this team would have won. Cheltenham No. 2 team carried off the Farley Cup. Mr Hughes presented the trophies and thanked all riflemen for coming along and helping to make the day a success. Meads 50, 49. 99; McKenzie 48, 47, 95; Thor by 48, 46, 94; Jenkins 49, 45, 94; Stevenson 48, 44, 92; total 474. Other A teams competing were Cheltenham No. ], 464; Wanganui No. 1, 455; Wanganui No. 3, 455; Wanganui No. 4, 445. Farley Cup Cheltenham NO. 2.-—Williamson 48, 47, 95; S. Barrow 48, 46, 94; Barrow 45, 49, 94; Booking 45, 47, 92; Stuart 47. 45, 92; total 467. Ashhurst No. 1. —Jones 50, 47, 97; Hausmann 48, 4S, 96; Turner 47, 45, 92; Searle 48, 49, 97; Orr 42, 50, 92; total 564. Other junior teams’ scores were: Marton 451, Ashhurst No. 2 450, Waireki 447, Patea 447, Rangitikei 442. Turakina 427, Wanganui 427.
