Ashhurst

defence Rifle Club. Last Saturday, two teams from the local Club journeyed to Putiki Range. Wanganui, to compete in the Wanganui Union’s teams matches. The Ashhurst No. 1 team just failed by two points to lift tho Farley Cup, Cheltenham being the winners. The No. 2 team also shot consistently and were well up In the list. The scores of the local teams were as follow, conditions being 10 shots at each of 500 and 600 yards:— No 1 team: J. Searle 49. 49—98; R. A. Jones 50, 47 —97; M. Hausmann 48, 48—96; C. Turner 47, 45—92; I. Orr 42, 40—82; total, 465. No. 2 team: S. Brookie 48. 45—93; A Brill 45, 47—92; M. Paton 46. 45—91; F Bassett 45, 44—59; N. Hopcroft 43, 42——85 total, 450. There will be a shoot on the local rang next Saturday.
