The society has made a happy choice for the first staged production of the 1937 season, “The Late Christopher Bean.” Amidst much deception and intrigue, two characters stand out in the opposite extreme —lan Young as Bruco Macßae and Muriel Richards as Susan Haggett. Bruce, the local painter and paporhanger, has latent talents for real art, typically Scotch and straight-forward. lan Young’s interpretation of this character is excellent. Very much in love with Bruce is Susau Haggett, only too willing to take risks in tho cause of love once Bruce has declared himself and entirely aloof from tho family intrigues, Muriel Richards’ acting is most convincing—those two players are admirable cast together.
